Australia Lacrosse Roster – 2018 FIL Championships

Fresh off a recent tour of Japan to knock the rust off and decide the final group of athletes that will represent Australia at the 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Netanya, Israel this summer, the Aussies are proud to announce their list of 23 men, plus 3 alternates, that will wear the Green and Yellow on the game’s biggest stage. They started with a pool of 43, whittled it down to 30, and finally have cut the roster down to 23, plus 3 traveling alternates.

The Sharks, as the Men’s National Field Team is referred to, will be heading into the World Games with a major chip on their shoulders. Denver’s 2014 event was the first edition of the FIL Men’s Championships since 1974 that Australia did not bring home a medal, with the Iroquois Nationals replacing them for Bronze.

With three silver medals, and seven bronze, already in their collection, Australia knows what it takes to find success at this level. Players will represent three Australian states, with one passport holder from Canada. With trials and tryouts more intense than ever now behind them, Coach Glenn Meredith should be excited with this list of 26 world class athletes to work with.
