I pretty much accepted underwear discomfort as a fact of life.
It’s a hot summer day and the inevitable up down from my desk leaves my boxers pretzeled up my thighs and sending my crotch into a tailspin of sweat. Eventually I yield and paw at my midsection to get everything back in place.
That is until I found Birddogs, shorts with built-in underwear. I’d seen a Facebook ad where they had two guys playing suggestive Twister in a park that was kinda funny but mostly confusing.
I saw a couple teams at the Lake Placid Summit Classic wearing Birddogs as uniforms so I asked if they were sponsored (they were not). They said Birddogs were 10x better than the usual sliders under mesh shorts so I decided to take the plunge.
Since then, I’ve tossed pretty much every other pair of shorts I own. Birddogs have these soft boxer briefs sewn inside the shorts that keeps everything in place no matter what I do. I’ve never felt so comfortable with clothes on.
I did some research and it doesn’t look like the success of the product was by accident – the original head of men’s design at Lululemon quit to create Birddogs. I actually feel more athletic.
While my playing days are long gone, it seems like these guys would kill it if they made an effort getting lax teams outfitted instead of making sexually ambiguous ads.
Birddogs if you’re reading this – shoot me a couple pairs and I’ll give you the playbook.
Editor’s note: We’re pleased to bring you this content sponsored by Birddogs (they actually read this and sent me pairs). Together we’re bringing the lacrosse community some much needed comic relief. We hope you enjoy.
