Colorado Mesa Drops 52 Goals, An Annoying D-Pole + More

Colorado Mesa (CMU) scores 52 (!) points on Johnson & Wales, a d-pole who will do anything to get in his attackman’s head and today’s top story.

The details: Colorado Mesa (CMU), a Division II university located in Grand Junction, Colorado, put up 52 (!) points on nearby Division III team Johnson & Wales on Tuesday night. Social media was divided on whether the coach was completely out-of-line for running the score up or whether Johnson & Wales needed to compete harder. One thing is for sure, you hate to see one of your players get injured in the final minutes of a contest like this.

The bottom line: CMU set an NCAA Division II record for points in a game at the hands of a team that had transitioned to the Division III ranks in 2018.
