Corning Gorilla Glass Signs As PLL Founding Partner

The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced today an agreement with Corning Gorilla Glass that will see the company become a Founding Partner of the PLL and the Presenting Sponsor of the end-of-season PLL Awards.

The Premier Lacrosse League has established itself as a true innovator among professional sports leagues in the way it embraces technology to market the league, employ social media and manage its players. As part of the agreement with Corning® Gorilla® Glass, PLL will be equipping the League with wearables, tablets and smartphones, all featuring Gorilla Glass.

The unprecedented gesture is intended to enhance the digital lives of players, coaches and League staff, further advance the tech-forward focus the PLL has adopted, and showcase the durability and capabilities Corning Gorilla Glass.

As an athlete and executive, I hold toughness and innovation in the highest regard. Corning Gorilla Glass also embodies these core principles, and it’s why we’re excited to announce them as a Founding Partner of PLL. I had he opportunity to visit their innovation lab and learn the history and science behind Gorilla Glass — even participating in some of their rigorous product tests. It was awesome, and exactly why we’re excited to see our League equipped with devices featuring Gorilla Glass. It’s going to help us grow our digital audience and allow our athletes to experience their products firsthand.

– PLL Co-Founder Paul Rabil

I can’t imagine a better platform than PLL to showcase the suite of Gorilla Glass products currently deployed in today’s mobile consumer device market. On and off the field, these athletes rely on their wearable displays to survive the punishment and stay readable in any light. And like the rest of us, they need phones that better resist damage from drops, and tablets that resist scratches and damage. Gorilla Glass is engineering these very device glasses, and we couldn’t be happier having PLL put us to the test and help spread the word.
