Hey guys, let’s do another Shielded Warrior Update.
I am ecstatic to say that we just got the funds in from the Give & Go Foundation and it amounted to an additional 70 masks. That gives us over 200 masks that we can build and donate because of your donations. Thank you!So, if you guys are new to this, I’ve converted part of my wood shop into a mask production facility. We are donating all of these through the Kohelet-Yeshiva Middle School to hospitals that need masks at no charge. They put together an amazing group of craftsmen and fabricators from all over Philadelphia and the Greater Philadelphia Area to produce these masks and distribute them to the frontline workers in hospitals who really need the protective equipment.
I want to start with thanking everybody in the lacrosse community. I wanna thank LaxAllStars, the Give & Go Fund and Kohelet Yeshiva. I thank you guys, most of all, because this wouldn’t be happening without you.
I promise I’m going to keep doing my part. I want you guys to keep doing your part if you’re able, and if you’re not able to donate, keep in mind that there’s other people in the community who can use your help. If you’re going to the grocery store, and there’s an elderly couple that live in your town, why don’t you (obviously social distanced) perhaps ask them if you can shop for or be of other aid to them. Help minimize the risk for your whole community so folks like that couple down the block don’t need to keep going out in public, potentially exposing themselves and others to any kind of harmful interactions or health risks.
Remember, just get creative with the situation that we’ve been given. Make sure you guys are fighting back, you know? There’s no reason to be complacent and to not push back against this terrible, terrible disease.
Until next time, teak care. Keep laxin’. Keep fighting.
It only takes $5 to create a mask. Think of it as a coffee and bagel for the healthcare professional in front of you in line, except it can save a life over and over again.
