Last week, a huge equipment donation arrived in Kingston, Jamaica from the C.W. Post University (LIU Post) men’s lacrosse program. Coach John Jez and his staff provided over 50 sets of custom gloves, custom elbow pads, and team uniforms to aid in the efforts of Fields of Growth lacrosse volunteers like Joey Blount, former standout LSM at Post.
During his time at Post, Joey helped lead the Pioneers to two national championships (2009, 2010), then he joined the coaching staff for a year. For five seasons, Joey dedicated himself to helping his college lacrosse team succeed. Now he’s a long-term volunteer in Jamaica, where he’s mentoring young athletes and introducing lacrosse to Jamaicans of all ages. And his alma mater has dedicated itself to helping him grow the game.
Way to go, Post.
