Two weeks of play of the 2014 Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association season is in the books as all teams have played at least three games.

Defending Baggataway Cup champion Guelph (0-3) have found defending the title a bit tougher than winning, losing their first three games. 2013 was the fourth league championship for the Gryphons, their first since 2008.

In the East, Bishop’s and McGill are both a perfect 3-0 early this season. Both schools have won a league title in the past four years and are looking to add another. The 2012 champion McGill Redmen have outscored opponents 42-15 so far and coach Tim Murdoch has his group poised to compete for another. The two are set to face one another on Wednesday in Montreal.

McGill Head Coach Tim Murdoch commented, “we expect another close battle vs Bishop’s; the winner of this week’s Redmen-Gaiters game will be in sole possession of 1st in CUFLA East.

18-time champ Brock (3-0) haven’t won a championship since 2009 and Badgers coach Justin Kennedy may have the firepower to end that drought this season. Averaging over 21 goals per game, the Badgers have held opponents to a total of 20 goals in their first three games.

Brock have plenty of competition in the West Division: Western Ontario (3-0), Laurentian (3-1) and Toronto (2-1) are off to a solid start to the season. The UWO Mustangs have won three titles, but none since 2001 (lost in double-OT to McGill in 2012 final). The Voyaguers of Laurentian have the two top scorers in the league in Philip Romanet (13 goals, 13 assists) and Clint Lamarsh (13 goals, 7 assists).
