What’s going on, everybody? Justin Skaggs here from the Wood Lacrosse Sticks workshop. I’m dropping in on this Wooden Stick Wednesday to unveil what I’ve been working on for a very special game grower. I wanted to show you guys a custom project I just did for the world-famous JoJo War Drummer.
JoJo War Drummer is kind of like a half-ambassador/half-hype man for Denver lacrosse. Denver has been a booming lacrosse community for the last couple of years and JoJo loves it all.
Outlaws, Pioneers, Mammoth, youth lacrosse… you name it!
And anybody who supports the growth of the game quickly becomes someone that I’m very fond of. When you go as far as lugging around a giant drum and some handmade instruments, you’ve completely sold me.
JoJo also loves to go outside and play the game with his son. Naturally, I made the both of them a custom pair of sticks so they can go out and grow the game together.
Obviously, JoJo is a massive Denver fan, so I made his stick Outlaw-themed. He’s on the sideline getting hype every weekend, it seemed like a logical fit.
I’ve been experimenting with putting the logos in the top portion of the lip. It’s difficult because it’s at a slope and it’s obviously very small, but I think the Outlaws logo came out really well. I also plastered that down the shaft to keep the theme going.
Game growers make our world go around. Because of them, our numbers keep going up and kids stay excited about the sport we all love.
I’m always going to try to help and support those people, anyway I possibly can. So, to JoJo, thank you for what you do for Denver and lacrosse as a whole. I hope these Twigs get some serious miles on them.
Until next time, guys, take care. Keep Laxin’.
