2014 Ales Hrebesky Memorial Preview

The 21st annual Ales Hrebesky Memorial box lacrosse tournament kicks off in the Czech Republic in less than one week, and we couldn’t be more excited. Players and coaches are already starting their long journeys to get to Radotín, so it’s time to preview the 2014 version of the event. Gait Lacrosse has stepped up and will be sponsoring all of the Prague Content this year!

Last year, home side LCC Radotín took the trophy and title for the first time in well over a decade. Seeing as it was the 20th edition of the tourney, the home team really wanted to make a statement, and they did so with some fantastic team and individual play throughout the tourney. They beat the Boston Megamen in a wet final game in convincing fashion.

The competition was better in 2013 than it was in 2012, and if the teams hold up to the hype, 2014 is looking even more competitive than last year. Boston is back, and is bringing a stacked team bent on reclaiming their title (which they last won in 2012). The Pioneers from BC are also back, the Privateers from Nova Scotia are back, and all of the German teams are rapidly improving. Finland will be better than ever, and two new Iroquois teams will help raise the level of play even further.

Basically, it’s going to be the best MAH ever. How can I say that? Because every MAH is the best MAH ever! It’s so simple. You’ll be able to watch it all LIVE as well, on Net-tv.cz!

Here’s a little video on the tournament, and what I’m bringing over in my gear bag:

In less than a week, 12 straight hours of box lacrosse for FOUR straight days kicks off outside of Prague. It’s the lacrosse trip of a lifetime, and we’d like to thank Gait Lacrosse for stepping in to sponsor our trip this year! The great video, photos, and posts you’ve come to expect… it’s all being supported by Gait Lacrosse, so a huge thanks to those guys must go out for making this trip possible!

Here is a quick photo gallery from last year’s Ales Hrebesky Memorial:

I can’t wait to meet up with old friends in Prague, make some new friends, and bring the magic that is the Ales Hrebesky Memorial directly to you!

Here is last year’s highlight video, because why not?
