Bombshell From Provo – Jason Lamb Pink Slipped??

LAXALLSTARS BREAKING NEWS:

Just heard from our RMLC sources that Jason Lamb, storied head coach and program manager of the 3 time National Champion (97, 00, 07) and 8 time RMLC Champion BYU Cougars has been released.

We don’t have much information at this time as to the reasoning behind this shocking news (IMO), but we’ll be sure to update you with additional details as soon as we’re able to choke it out of our RMLC friends.

My own opinion, there must’ve been a major shakeup to relieve Coach Lamb of this position. His success in his 17 years at BYU has been astounding, fueling rumors of a potential BYU move to NCAA and allowing BYU to maintain a virtual monopoly on recruiting the top HS talent in Utah. The recruitment impact alone could potentially stifle the growth of a program with NCAA aspirations.

Ok, maybe I’m being alarmist, but with a sport (lacrosse) and a league (MCLA) that REQUIRES iconic talent and living legends to support it’s growth this just seems like the wrong move to me. BUT, I’ll reserve judgement until we hear BYU’s rationale behind this shocking move.

Stay tuned for more from LAS folks.
