Breaking News Out Of Canada: Junior Traded?!?!

Editor’s Note: Please welcome Chris Fox from North of the Border to LAS. His first piece is some big breaking news out of the NLL. Like Lebron big.

Last season we had the return of Colin Doyle, who was once the face of the franchise, to the Toronto Rock.  Only to face his former team of a season ago, the San Jose/Washington Stealth and the player (Lewis Ratcliff) he was traded for in the Champions Cup final! The Stealth ended up winning the NLL championship and Lewis Ratcliff also ended up taking home the Championship Game MVP award.

This off season we have seen yet another team fold, only after relocating the year previous (from NYC to Orlando).  With that corresponding dispersal draft, we saw the NLL regular season MVP, Casey Powell, find a new home in Boston.  Along with numerous trades out of Calgary we finally see the combo in Beantown of Josh Sanderson (6x All-Pro), Dan Dawson (2009 RS MVP), and Powell (2010 RS MVP). This trio being compared to the recent Miami Heat free-agent circus.

Most recently – as in NOW, one of the most recognizable names in the game, John Grant Jr., is on the move and has been traded from Rochester to Colorado.

With the recent #1 pick overall in the NLL entry draft, which was first owned by Colorado, Rochester selected Cody “Jammer” Jamieson. Jamieson, Syracuse ’09, has now become the proverbial face of the Rochester franchise. Unfortunately, the Mammoth and Knighthawks will not meet in the regular season.  Will history repeat itself in the NLL Championship?!?!

As one of the busiest ballers around and recent Mann Cup winner, Grant could be exactly what the Mammoth need to gain back its supremacy in once held in the West.

Lastly, already a force in Sr. Box Lax in Canada, Jamieson is a pure winner and could easily lead the K’Hawks into the playoffs.
