Frederick Douglass Academy, or FDA as their more popularly known, won their first city title in NYC’s “B” Bowl Division this year, and I was there to take it all in live. They played Curtis, a relatively established program from Staten Island, and pulled out a tight victory.
It was a watershed moment for Harlem Lacrosse, and hearing from the players themselves only reinforced this fact. Next year, FDA moves up to “A” Division… can they make it two in a row? The competition gets stiffer, but this is a solid program, so maybe!
