Hawaii Tournament: Don’t You Just LOVE Lax?

So the Hawaii tournament took place last weekend and, as usual, it was supposedly unreal.  All accounts, again, as usual, paint it as an almost unmatchable lacrosse and life experience. I am hoping to be able to provide another look at the tournament so stay posted, but in the meantime you should really check out Inside Lacrosse’s coverage of the tournament.  IL also has some excellent photos in their gallery, which can be found here. Right now, I’d like to point to a specific section of that Inside Lacrosse article by Danielle Bernstein where she talks about the best play of the tournament:

Play of the Game
“What I’ve been told was the most amazing hidden ball trick, brothers Owen and Glenn Adams ran this play at some point in every game and it worked every time. They run at each other in front of the net and the brother with the ball drops it while still going hard toward cage. He sold it, causing the defense to gun right for him while the other brother picks the ball up from the grass and shoots on what is essentially an empty net. He shot from top center while the goalie was looking far left.”

First off, Id like to point out that while IL gets a lot of guff about never getting players’ names right, they got it right here with Mr. 2-N Glenn. The rest of the reason that I’m putting this on blast is because I have an agenda: promote Glenn (and his brother Owen) as much as I can. I played with him in college, coached him after that and I have to say the kid is a true competitor, loves the game and is straight nasty as a lacrosse player. He scored 207 career points in the NESCAC… as a midfielder. Basically, I just love seeing a guy get this kind of love even though he played D3 (I’m ridiculously biased, I know). Now, if you’re willing to take it a ludicrous step further, you can throw in Eric Martin making the US team and the littlest brother of NCAA lacrosse has had a pretty good week!

Here is a video re-cap from IL:
