Maverik And Stevenson Sitting In A Tree…

Over the past year or two, Maverik has picked up a bunch of college teams as sponsored programs, including Washington College, CW Post and Brown. Today it was announced that Mav has signed on Stevenson University down in Maryland and this may actually be one of their best sponsored programs yet.

JImmy Dailey in Maverik gear? Gonna be snazzy!

Stevenson is poised to make another serious run at a NCAA National Championship in 2011, even though it would be the school’s first in Men’s Lacrosse. CW Post won the title last year in Division 2, but Division 3 lacrosse has a much broader reach and fanbase. Stevenson winning the title in Maverik gear would be big for the manufacturer.

Stevenson will be rocking the Maverik Maybachs (just like LAS!) and they will also be picking up the Monster gear bag, which is a voluminous throwback bag that we just can’t get enough of.

Maybachs are looking pretty slick. Guess we’ll see more black in Stevenson’s uniforms this year!
Monster Gear Bag mock up for Stevenson. Sweet and simple.

Maverik Lacrosse Signs Stevenson University to Three-Year Deal

Long Island City, NY, October 29, 2010 — Maverik Lacrosse today announced it has signed a three-year agreement with Stevenson University men’s lacrosse team to supply the Mustangs with custom branded equipment through the 2013 season.

Stevenson, who won the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) championship in 2010 and advanced to the NCAA Division III semifinal game, will be outfitted with custom Maverik Maybach gloves and team branded Monster travel bags.

“We are pleased to team up with Maverik Lacrosse for our protective gear for the next three seasons.  We know that Maverik equipment is designed and developed by many of the game’s top lacrosse players for lacrosse players.  They are an innovative company that is developing innovative products and we like to think that our lacrosse program at Stevenson University is also on the cutting edge,” said head coach Paul Cantabene.

In six seasons under coach Cantabene, Stevenson has posted a 79-27 record, played in five Capital Athletic Conference championship games, and made two NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship appearances.  During the past two seasons, the Mustangs achieved a final ranking of No. 1 in the USILA Division III poll. Furthermore, Stevenson has had 17 All-America selections over the last three seasons, including four first team honorees and the 2009 and 2010 Division III Attackman of the Year.

“Paul has done an outstanding job since taking over at Stevenson.  His winning record is no doubt a result of his ability to teach players and instill in them the same work ethic that made him such a dominant player at Loyola as well as the MLL, NLL and Team USA. We are looking forward to working with Coach Cantabene and giving his team what they need for continued success,” said John Gagliardi, President of Maverik Lacrosse.
