Making A Change

Happy Friday, ladies and gentlemen!

Unfortunately we don’t always control the environment that we are in at the moment, the goings on of that environment, or the people in the environment. We only control the way we react to or handle our environment. Fortunately none of these things is permanent. Eventually we’ll leave the environment. Whatever is going on will stop. Whoever is there will depart. No matter the storm, however, we are built to weather it. We are designed to be able to handle conflict. We’re designed to be able to deal with one another, and it’s not always easy.

Each of us has our own way of dealing with personal and professional difficulty. The way I handle something may not be the same way you handle it, and both of our methods may work very well for each of us. Where I believe people fall short is when they are locked into one certain way of dealing with difficulty… and it doesn’t work. We can all probably point to somebody we know that seems to run into the same issue over and over, or they have the same problem(s) with the same person over and over. You hear things like “Every time … I always try … It never works (or, the same thing happens).” We’ve all heard that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Try something different! Even the slightest difference may have a major effect.

We don’t have to struggle through everything. We don’t have to continuously be annoyed by anyone. We don’t have to return to the same places, people, and conflicts that are not in our best interest. If we cannot change what’s going on around us, we need to change what’s going on in us. Do something different!

Make it a GREAT weekend!

Stay blessed.
