This week’s Music Monday is a lacrosse guy through and through – Lorne Smith. Today, Lorne & the Wayhighs officially released the music video for his song, SPACE. The band will also be playing at the first annual Laxgiving Super Jam on Nov. 14th in San Francisco at the Independent, complete with the VisualRaid live projection light show. LAXGIVING SUPER JAM

  • a new annual benefit event bringing the Bay area lacrosse community together for our brothers and sisters in need
  • featuring live music, projection light show, DJ, dancing and good times
  • Facebook event

Wednesday, November 14th

This year’s event will benefit:  Zach Heffner Medical Fund

“You may not have ever met Zach Heffner, but you know him through his work. Whether it be his photo and video work for Easton Lacrosse, US Lacrosse Magazine Cover Shots, editorial shots for Inside Lacrosse Magazine or his playing years: National Champion at UVA, a pro player in the MLL, NLL or his stint on the Bronze Medal winning 2007 US National Indoor Team, somewhere you’ve come into contact with him or his work…and he needs your help! In the process of training for a possible LXM comeback, Zach suffered a devastating injury to his knee early this June while playing lacrosse. Needing major surgery to reconstruct his ACL, MCL, PCL and both meniscus, Zach went under the knife for a pretty routine procedure.  In the following weeks, a still unidentified infection forced Zach back under the knife three more times and put a definite end to his athletic career and also threatened to close the doors of his company, Verdict Digital.  Without being able to work and with the medical bills piling up, Zach and the Verdict Crew are reaching out to the lacrosse community for help. Before they shut down Zach’s company, the Verdict Crew is hoping to raise enough money to pay off his medical bills from the extra surgeries so they can keep on helping lacrosse gain exposure through their work.”

LIVE MUSIC

Lorne & The Wayhighs (feat. The VisualRaid Experience)

It’s a BIG BEAT DANCE ROCK JAM sound that began in the Fells Point blues bars of Lorne Smith’s hometown Baltimore. It was shaped in San Francisco on the stages of The Independent, Great American Music Hall, Bimbo’s, Slim’s, Cafe Du Nord, and the Boom Boom Room. It grew up on Ocean Beach, around a campfire, and by the river. Now, backed by all-stars of the SF scene including members of Diego’s Umbrella and The Real Nasty, it is released to the world as Lorne & The Wayhighs. Get a free download of the brand new single “INDIAN SUMMER”.
