The 2011 Team Jesse Raffle will feature the STX Grand Prize, a gear bag stuffed with STX lacrosse equipment.  Thanks to Anthony Kelly, STX rep, MLL All-Star and Team Jesse player, the STX Grand Prize is sure to generate some ticket sales.

Other prizes include a new Pro 7 helmet donated by Ian O’Hearn at Break Away Lacrosse out in Washington, some great Warrior and Brine gear donated by Chris Labreche at Warrior and two amazing custom dyed Team Jesse heads and a pair of shorts from Matty Hickman at King Dyes.  The former Salisbury All-American will be taking the field for Team Jesse as well.

1Lacrosse will continue it’s generous and long standing support of Team Jesse by adding their limited addition camo Team Jesse shafts to the list of prizes and there has been rumor of some great collegiate gear showing up in time for the raffle as well.  “1Lacrosse has been with us from the start and continues to come up big for us in every way and we can’t thank them enough,” said Corry.

For the non-laxers out there interested in supporting the fund raising efforts by purchasing raffle tickets, there will be some unique, signed NFL memorabilia included in the drawing.  Of course there will be plenty of other schwagg to raffle off along the way.

As for players, Team Jesse will feature a group of professional and amateur lacrosse players from across the country and around the world.  Current and former MLLers like Anthony Kelly, Matt Hickman, Andrew Wasik, Chris Taylor and Mike “Tree” Simon will take the field for Team Jesse alongside current or former national team players like Matt Althauser (Germany 2010), Kevin “Kevin Owens Must Dye” Owens (Ireland 2008-2011), Sean McTernan (Ireland 2010) and Jeff Joy (Australia 2011).

Brant Howell will join Team Jesse, fresh off a national championship appearance with ND and fellow Cortland alums Adam Hughes and Ryan McTernan will hit the field together again. Lasell College lax will be well represented by Dan Russo, Mike Maggio and Chris Labreche, as the boys from Boston make the trek down to Miami.

Josh Rachman will anchor the defense and joins Team Jesse from Baltimore, where his recruiting efforts landed many of the names mentioned here, including Miami native Greg Furshman of Stevenson face-off fame. As a Miami and SOBE insider, Greg has hooked Team Jesse up with his old friend Jay Waks, owner of Tree House Miami & hosts of the Tournament Party on Sat. night.  Jay will also take the field with the squad.

Team Jesse Co-Founders Kevin Mincio (UCONN ’93) and Matt Corry (UCONN ’95), both former UCONN club players and officers, will bring their combined 50 years of lacrosse playing experience to SOBE as players, team leaders and organizers of the Team Jesse Raffle.  Yes, you read that right. 50 years!

“Several other guys I’m proud to have involved are friends and current club ball team mates like Chris Deist (Adelphi), Ian Cadieu (Yale), Marc Digiovanni (ECSU) and my little brother Mike Corry (Georgetown)” said Matt.  “Sweet Sweet Lax has even helped in the recruiting effort as we’re happy to have been introduced to Rory Baldini (Bates)” he added.

Last, but in no way least, is Matt Sauri of Wimmer Solutions fame.  As one of Mincio’s dearest friends, Matt has been a huge supporter of Team Jesse from the get go and is an original player from the Lax Vegas team of 2007, where Team Jesse took shape.  “His financial support of Team Jesse is unsurpassed and his connections within the lacrosse community have been a tremendous help in telling our story.  He’s a true comrade in this effort” Corry stated.

“We’ve really been grateful for how helpful and enthusiastic the lacrosse community has been in supporting our efforts.  All of our sponsors and donors and players and friends are committed to our growth and with lacrosse media outlets like Lax All Stars and Sweet Sweet Lax sharing our story, I know our mission will be a success” Matt declared.

In order to participate in the Team Jesse Raffle and help further their fund raising efforts, make sure to find the guys on the fields on Friday and Saturday and at the Party Saturday night.  They’ll have plenty of raffle tickets on hand and there will be a ton of prizes to go around.  If you would like to help out immediately, please visit www.teamjesse.org to donate and learn more.
