Wesleyan Lacrosse Faces Judgement Day

The NESCAC (NCAA DIII) finally kicked off practice on February 15th, and the guys on the Wesleyan Lacrosse team were put to work IMMEDIATELY.  When I played at Wesleyan we had our own version of “Iron Man” testing, and it was definitely tough, but it was simply NOTHING like what they are doing now.  We used to run the Beep Test, and do all the lifting and running in the world, but it all pales in comparison to what the Cardinals are doing now.

Wesleyan Lacrosse Judgement Day

Eric Kapitulik came through and put the guys through “the Program”, and this former Navy Commander and Navy lacrosse player is the real deal.  It reminds me of my Wrestling team overnight in high school, where our former Marine coach put us through the exact same thing. I was literally hallucinating by the end of it.  But it was one of those experiences that helped me realize I was not meeting my full potential, in sports or in life.  It was a true trial by fire.  And I’ll owe Coach Baldanza for it for the rest of my life, even though I only wrestled that one year.  That is how much of a difference maker training like this can be.

If you don’t think NCAA DIII lacrosse is for real, prepare to be impressed.  Also, make sure to check out the 1:00 minute mark.  ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!  I bet most D1 guys can’t do that.  Beyond excited for the NESCAC season to kick off.  Who’s with me???

Props to Wesleyan for throwing this video together today even though they had such an early morning!  Get after it, fellas!  Also, we love the English spelling of Judgement (thanks Karl!).  It adds to the seriousness of the video!
