20th Ales Hrebesky Memorial: 1st Photos

The 20th annual Ales Hrebesky has kicked off with a fervor in Radotin, Czech Republic. With 13 countries represented by different teams and even more countries represented by national players, the AHM is experiencing its biggest, and by the looks of things so far, its best tournament ever.

The quarterfinals kick off tomorrow with Love You To Death, LCC Wolves, London Knights, Green Gaels, Pioneers, Boston Megamen, Nova Scotia Privateers, and LCC Radotin all vying for a title at this point.

So far, the Wolves have been the surprise team of the tournament, and this young squad is playing well in front of their home crowd. The Wolves also play host to the first ever women’s runner in the tourney. They might not be a favorite to actually win it, but teams across the line up are taking note of the young Czech talent on display.

Alex Scriffiano will be back tomorrow with a whole lot more (assuming our WiFi works), and we’ll have more photos, and maybe even some video. Who knows?
