A Sad Day For The Entire Seattle Lacrosse Community

The Seattle lacrosse community is reeling with the tragic loss of one their star high school lacrosse players. Tyler Lucas, a senior at Issaquah High, was killed in an automobile accident on Tuesday. Tyler was a great young man from one of the cornerstone lacrosse families in the community. A four-year varsity player, Tyler led Issaquah to two state championships and would have anchored the defense for this year’s team, which was an early favorite for the title again.

Additionally, Tyler played many years in the Seattle Starz program and spent the last two on the Seattle Starz Elite team. His talent and skills also earned him four years on the touted West Coast Starz team, where he was part of a defense that garnered much acclaim.

This fall, Tyler had committed to play NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse at Dominican University, in San Rafael, CA.

Tyler was known as an upbeat friendly guy to the hundreds of kids he played with and against throughout the years. His father, Jim, is a coach in the Issaquah system and mother, Patty, is a tireless volunteer and noted booster in the stands. It is a tragedy beyond description for the community, and one whose impact will be felt for a long time. Vaya con Dios, Tyler.
