Glenbrook North Lacrosse Hidden Ball Trick Against New Trier

We get a lot of good submissions, but this is the best one in a while.  The Glenbrook North Varsity Lacrosse team, out of Northbrook, IL, is currently 8-2 and they played Illinois powerhouse New Trier last night in a big high school lacrosse game.

New Trier is the 7-time state champions of Illinois and it has been a really long time since Glenbrook North has beaten them. The game was tied 4-4 going into half, and New Trier went on a run late in the fourth to go up 10-5. Glenbrook North was able to put one in the back of the net to make it a 10-6 ball game, and then they got this man-up opportunity.

With 3:30 left in the game they decided to throw some trickery into the mix as their man-up offense had not been where they needed it to be all game. The video below is what transpired. Evidently, Glenbrook North has tried this play before with no success, but it was finally executed to perfection to make it a 10-7 ball game.

In the end, New Trier’s hard nosed defense was able to hold Glenbrook North off and 10-7 would be the final score.  Props to Mike Synek for sending this clip in.  Great to get a glimpse of good Illinois HS lax!

Always watch the flip at X!

Tip of the hat to GN for running the hidden ball trick, and hats off to New Trier for weathering the storm and winning the game.  Sounds like a really awesome high school lax contest!
