Music Monday: Off the Main-stream

Good Monday to all the Lax All Stars across the globe! With Tom and Peyton grappling for NFL legend status and Kanye and Miley battling for the controversy spotlight, I thought it would be appropriate to stay off the beaten path for another Music Monday.

Today, I am introducing the indie/roots band Sons of Fathers from the musical Mecca that is Austin, Texas. The band, led by Paul Cauthen and David Beck, has just two studio albums out. Their first (self-titled Sons of Fathers) sprung them onto the national music scene and gained critical acclaim with major sources. Their second, entitled Burning Days, released in April and is a HIT.

Sons of Fathers has been compared to greats like Neil Young and has been called “timeless” music; the new album provides nothing less. These guys are currently touring through Texas but be on the lookout for a more expansive tour next year! It appears that they can put on quite a show…
