GameChanger Chat: Greg “Beast” Gurenlian

I have played on some great teams, and been around some very passionate people. I interview the one of them that stands apart, Greg “Beast” Gurenlian.

Editor’s Note: Joe Yevoli was an All-American lacrosse player at Virginia and Syracuse and won a national title with the Cavs in 2003 before moving on to play in the MLL. Follow Joe and follow GameChanger Lacrosse on Twitter and sign up for early access to the GameChanger Lacrosse App!

Quick! Think of the most intense athlete you know. Who’s coming to mind? I’ve played on some great teams, and been around some very passionate people. But, out of all of them – Greg “Beast” Gurenlian stands apart.

I got a chance to play with Greg on the NY LIzards for only a few games. Even over such a short period of time Greg stood out as one of the best leaders I’ve been around. He never takes it easy. He’s always giving 100%. He wants to win and he won’t settle for anything less from the people around him.

Greg was on his way to Princeton when I gave him call and we got a chance to talk about things like nutrition, work out plans, conditioning drills, early recruiting, and of course… face-offs.
