2 Sick Goals When It Counts Most: Tourney Time!

I got to watch the quick strike offense of Tufts take down Middlebury online on Wednesday and it was a great game.  NCAA games showcasing two NESCAC teams are usually good so this was no surprise, however there was another game going on (that I also watched live) and let me just say… WOW.  The Stevenson-Roanoke game was straight up EPIC.

The game was back and forth and for a while I thought Roanoke had the game in hand.  Stevenson never seemed too worried though and they stuck to their game plan (which evidently involved their goalie making upwards of 25 saves) and pulled out the W.  Like he’s done all year, Richie Ford scored goals.  This time he dropped 5 of them on Noke but two of them were really special.

The first may make Cody Jamieson want to eat his own heart out.  It was no look.  It was through the legs.  It was through the goalie’s legs as well.  It was in traffic.  It was sick.  The second goal was also in traffic and involved not looking at the cage but this time it was a backhand blast from about 6 yards that found its way to the top corner (close enough anyway).  Throw in the fact that it was also the Overtime NCAA quarterfinal game winner and you have the recipe for the sickest goal of the year so far.

I was really excited to see the game live via webcast and I was just as excited when LacrossePlayground found this YouTube video and tweeted us about it to make sure we saw it.  Good find by those guys and thanks for the heads up!  We just want to share this excellence with everyone.  It’s that good.  Enough of me talking about it… just watch the video and then you can talk about it in the comments.  This kid is giving flashy attackmen everywhere something higher to shoot for.
