Hot Pot: No Time To Give Like The Present

No matter how old or young you are, you can probably remember the first time you threw a lacrosse ball. The person that introduced you to the game is still probably fresh in your mind. You can probably remember the first time you got your own stick, or the first goal you scored, save you made, or big hit you delivered.

How could I forget?

For me, all of those moments mean something, and while I can’t speak for everyone, I am willing to bet that a lot of those moments speak to you too. They are the markers of decisions we’ve made, paths we’ve followed, and people who have inspired us. They are some of the moments that shaped us, and continue to shape us, and those moments alone are a gift of great importance.

Now that we’ve reached the height of the season of giving, if you haven’t been already, it’s your turn to go out there and give, and religion has nothing to do with it!

It doesn’t matter if you’re 9 or 99. Anyone can do it. It can be as small and simple as inviting the new kid in town over to play catch, or giving an old stick to a cousin, or local kid. And it can be as big and complex as donating a new set of custom helmets and gloves to a team in need.

The size of the gift is not what’s important, because the gesture itself can last a lifetime. I’m pretty sure that everyone reading LAS is proof of that.
