The GREAT Life: Attitude, Part 1

As they say, attitude is a little thing that goes a long way! Every piece of The GREAT Life is a choice.

You don’t have to be grateful or express gratitude for everything, you make a conscious choice to do so. You don’t have to make an effort to show respect to everyone (and it does take some work sometimes!), you choose to. You don’t have to be enthusiastic about what you are doing, or find activities/practices to be enthusiastic about, you choose to. Such is the case with your attitude.

The one difference here, is that your attitude is the one thing that you have 100% control over throughout the course of the day. Sometimes you have to really search for things to be grateful for, because even though they may be right in front of you, they may be tough to see. Sometimes we are physically, mentally, emotionally drained, and enthusiasm is just tough.

But we can change our attitude any time we choose. And it’s important to do so. Keep in mind, it’s not always to remain in that positive state of mind. There may be days that you have to change your attitude every hour … Or every time a certain coworker enters your office … or every time a certain person calls/texts/emails you! In those situations, remind yourself that nobody has control over your attitude or what affects your attitude but you.

“Too blessed to be stressed,” is one of those attitude changing phrases that I keep in the back of my mind. When you realize the truth in that statement, it becomes tremendously difficult for anyone or anything else to alter your mind frame.

To steal from John Wooden, today, and for the rest of this week, “promise to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.” Make a conscious effort to be in complete control of your own attitude.

Make it a GREAT week!
be easy
God bless.
