Wednesday equals wood lacrosse stick day. You should know the drill! I
wanna show you guys a really cool project that features the HEADstrong foundation, which is one of my all-time favorite charities and also based in Philadelphia. One of the customers that frequent my website put in a request for a HEADstrong lacrosse stick and I was immediately excited to bring it to life. From the start, I decided that I wanted to be a part of what he was building.
We do Color Series sticks from time to time, and basically, that’s when I hand-paint an engraved inlay. It takes quite a lot of time and significantly more than other projects. I only want to do projects I know will be worth it at the end of it all for me and the client.
I’m a firm believer of giving back, so, I did this kinda pro bono. I’ll say this, if you guys are ever doing something for the benefit of a charity, feel free to reach out to me. I have no problem doing some additional artwork on a stick for you guys.
That said, the HEADstrong Foundation is an absolutely amazing charity. People that are fighting the fight against cancer, and their families, can really have a lot of costs and expenses that pile up surrounding room and board during treatment. Here in Philadelphia, we have some amazing hospitals and people will actually travel here to get the best care. Having to relocate to Philly is hard enough, but it’s even harder to pick up and move your whole family, find room, board and resources. HEADstrong provides that through Nick’s House. Nick’s House provides 2,555 complimentary nights annually for out-of-town cancer patients and their families traveling to the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The program offers a guest house designed to meet the unique needs of patients, their families and/or caregivers.
We encourage you to looking into the HEADstrong Foundation and all of the work they do in and out of lacrosse. Any donations that you can their way is always going to go to the right place. This turned out to be an amazing stick and I can’t wait to see what the customer eventually strings into it,
Until next time, take care. Keep laxin’.
