The International Hainaut Cup: Lax In France

Longtime reader and lacrosse playing Frenchman, Thomas Flamen, dropped us a note to remind us of the only field lacrosse tournament in France.

The International Hainaut Cup will be hosted on the 31st of May and 1st of June (Saturday and Sunday).

The tournament fee is 35€ per player (less than $50 USD), and that includes lodging on Friday and Saturday night (in a gym), food (provided by a catering service) on Saturday (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and Sunday (breakfast and lunch), two parties and a turf field with spotlights (which in Europe is worth mentioning).

As of now, the event is planning on having 6 men’s teams as well as 3 women’s teams, but they would love to increase team participation! Other than the cheap tourney fees, only thing players will have to pay for is travel expenses, the nearest airport being Brussels Charleroi, Belgium (roughly an hour and a half away).

Details

Games: 2-20min halves each game, teams will play 5 games on a great synthetic field.

Location: 103, rue de la Chaussiette 59163 Condé sur l’Escaut ( in the north of France next to Lille and Belgium )

Cost: 35€ per player

I encourage you to check this out if you happen to be in Europe at the end of May, or if your looking to take your significant other to France for a romantic getaway…and a little lax action.

Check out the official Facebook page for more information or email the Hainaut Cup!
