Talkin’ bout practice.
Practice.
The first day of the Dutchvegas 2011 lacrosse season started yesterday with practice. Despite missing the football players, wrestlers, and soccer players, turnout was fantastic. Roughly 35 players were there.
After posting that one on twitter I received this comment:
Practice wasn’t without hitches. We’ve clearly outgrown our field – a little league baseball field located here. Stick skill drills that I had been drawing up over the summer were useless due to cramped spaces. A lot of minor collisions occurred. Looks like I’m headed back to the drawing board.
Relative to last year’s first day of practice, this is a completely different team. The culture is different. The work ethic is greater. The skill level is light years past where we were 12 months ago.
Yesterday I watched players like Jarred Hatfield, Forest English, and Brandt Latino laugh at their defenders. In fact, at one point, Hat just started doing dodges back and forth and told the guy “I’m just toying with you now.” A year ago, they couldn’t even cradle.
It’s a good thing Dalton Bailey was out after having an outpatient procedure done on his broken toe. Our nets can’t handle any more of his abuse.
At one point, that net was fully strung and had no holes in it. Received this comment after posting:
Didn’t think about that. I’ll have to give it a shot and let you know.

Had to rock some of my LAS swag to the practice yesterday. Reminding everyone what the ultimate goal is.
Felt so fly, like a Gulfstream G650.

Do you have a white helmet? Ever wondered if there’s anything you can possibly do to make it cool?
Put LAS stickers on it.

This is still happening. Con Bro and Brett Bro are coming to pay me a visit. Is it sad that the only thing I’m worried about is where I’m going to take them to eat???
