Photo Of The Week!

This week’s Photo of the Week comes from UC Davis player Johnny Parsons. The photo was taken on Saturday, November 13th, in Las Vegas, NV at the Best of the West MCLA lacrosse tournament.

Here’s the note we received from Johnny:

This past weekend was the Best of the West Tournament in Las Vegas and the first MCLA game of the day (7:45 am start – yikes) was UC Davis vs. BYU. The Aggies, who generally get placed somewhere in the middle of the quagmire of national rankings, were stoked just to be able to play a perennial top-ten team like BYU. The Courgars led by one the entire game until a UC Davis attackman intercepted a clear in the final 2 minutes and began a fast break to tie the game at 4. The tournament director was watching the game and he insisted we play overtime, which you don’t see too often in fall ball. UC Davis attackman Johnny Parsons (yours truly), was fortunate enough to be on the glory end of a pick and roll about 15 yards above cage in the middle of the field. The middie fed me, I let the shot go and the ball found its way to the back of the net. This was a big upset – even in the fall – and a huge win for the UC Davis program. The picture that is attached was taken right as the game winning goal was scored. The pandemonium ensuing in the background is my favorite part – check those verticals, at least 40 inches all around.

HONORABLE MENTION

Reader Patrick V sent in this sideline shot of a game going on below the always pretty Oregon Mountains. What a pristine view. Thanks for the photo PV!
