Princeton University Lacrosse Season Preview

Princeton is now Chris Bates‘ team 100%.  After a legendary coach like Bill Tierney leaves, it always takes time.  But Bates seems to be doing an excellent job of bringing a new life to the Tigers.

He’ll bring over some of his schemes from Drexel, but probably have more talent on the field to utilize. This will result in new looks from Princeton, and from what we can tell, a very different team. The whole LAS crew is excited to see Princeton’s new approach… not that we didn’t like the old approach… we’re just fans of changing the game up from time to time!

Princeton's boomerang uniforms will be gone. Replaced by 2-man games. (joke)

Will Princeton re-emerge as the top Ivy League team under Bates? Or will Cornell, Brown, and Harvard continue to make this a 4 horse race most years?

Penn is also pushing and Yale has some talent. Dartmouth is always good for an upset or two, and once in a while they put together a really solid season. From LAS’ perspective, another year of balance, surprises and down-to-the-minute NCAA bids is coming. And for the game of lacrosse, that’s a good thing.
