Two Central New Yorkers are going to get some credit for what they’re doing on the lacrosse field. John Desko of Syracuse and Craig McDonald of UMass have been selected as our Coaches of the Week!
Both squads pulled off big conference wins this week under their instruction. Syracuse fought on for their fifth one-goal win in a row while the defense of UMass held Delaware to only six goals!
Coaches of the Week: John Desko &Craig Mc Donald
This guy does not get enough credit, given his resume and the fact that he’s simply one of the best coaches of all-time. And that’s John Desko from Syracuse University. All he did was avenge a, you know, 19-6 loss from last year, or something like that to Notre Dame.
They went in ranked number two, although I have them ranked number one. And he went out and he beat Notre Dame, in South Bend, which is not easy to do. For yet, another one goal victory, for their fifth Top 20 win of 2017.
For the Assistant Coach of the Week, I’m going to Zoo Mass, Craig McDonald, Defensive Coordinator. His defense held a Delaware team, who beat former #1 Rutgers, known for it’s offensive prowess, to six goals. That’s an impressive effort. To keep UMass relative in the conversation, when you talk CAA, that’s a big league win and, excellent defensive performance, and obviously an excellent defensive game plan.
It’s time for the home stretch!
