Lake George: Vacation or Lacrosse Tournament?

When LaxAllStars asked me to attend the Lake George National Invitational with PrimeTime Lacrosse, it was an easy decision as soon as I heard those first two words lovely words: “Lake George.” Between the beautiful scenery, potential for water sports and the lacrosse action I was about to get to see, I was ecstatic for the opportunity!

As a pro lacrosse player, it’s really important to me to give back to the local community where I came from. Road tripping just a few hours east from my home in Syracuse to Lake George for the tournament presented me with the chance to rub shoulders with young players who’ve had similar upbringings to mine.

I visited several teams at Golden Goal Sports Park during the tournament, spoke with them about leadership and helped get them hyped. The talent on the field was impressive, but what I was even more impressed by were the players and coaches I met off the field. Clearly PrimeTime does a phenomenal job at bringing high quality lacrosse programs to its events. I think speaking with these teams was as rewarding for me as it was for them!

Bill O'Brien

Born and raised south of Syracuse, in Lafayette, NY. Bill was a three sport letter man in high school playing Football, Ice Hockey and Lacrosse. Post high school Bill received a scholarship to play D1AA football at Sacred Heart University, where he was an all conference defensive end. Bill dual majored in Business Administration and Marketing, receiving Bachelor of Science degrees in both programs. In September 2013, Bill co-founded the Thompson Brothers Lacrosse brand. In 2014, Bill was invited to the New England Black Wolves Free Agent Camp where he earned a roster spot. Bill played three years for the New England Black Wolves before being released in 2017. Bill is a Nike Athlete and currently playing for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League.
