Lax Link-O-Rama

Lax Link-o-rama

There has been less lax coverage in general this week so we’re giving you a shorter version of the Lax Link-O-Rama. Gotta make sure you have your reading prepped for the holiday weekend!  Lets dive right in.

The LXM PRO event went OFF in SoCal this past week.  Coverage was spotty but IL interviewed a bunch of people with Smitty asking the questions.  Some people hated the interviews, and others didn’t hate them.  To each their own! Con Bro Chill got his interview on and as usual, our favorite MCLA laxer kept us laughing all the way to the bank. Look for some Lax All Stars exclusive video from Mr. Bro Chill behind the scenes at LXM PRO next week!

IL recently put up some highlight videos to match their interview videos and got both the LXM game and the Chappy-UCSB tilt.  It’s always awesome to see pro lax in November and in Cali so I’d say the event was a HUGE success, especially when you consider this was the first LXM event ever.  Not. Too. Shabby.  I’m hoping to make it to one of the next locations so I can provide a better run down.

In other news, ULAX had a tourney in Denver and it looks like it was pretty sweet.  Check out the link to the video here.  You can watch it on IL as well, but I try to be an original source kind of guy.  On the ULAX site, there is also a video from the NYC Tournament that took place this past summer.  The oft-mentioned Adams brothers were on the winning team there.

Movember may be coming to an end, but I don’t think that means that all these mustaches should be shaved.  Think that our fearless leaders here at LAS will keep theirs for much longer?  My guess is no, even if Crave’s ginger stache happens to be perfection.

On a much more serious note, three Sacred Heart lax players were arrested and charged with at least a sexual assault charge of conspiracy.  I don’t want to rush to any conclusions (like when it happened at Duke), so I’m not going to say anything else about the case specifically. However, in general I really think that the police should have more info before releasing the suspects’ names.  It seems like the accused can turn into victims in the blink of an eye so they probably deserve the same protection that the original victim has until there is enough evidence to actively pursue a case.  Then the names can be released – before that? Seems dangerous.  I’m not linking to the story because I don’t want to further tarnish anyone’s reputation until I know more.  I’m sure you’ve all seen the news and can google it if you want, but it’s a matter of principle.

Matt “Dino” Dinowski signed with Warrior.  He’s now laxing full-time and making more than a living wage. MLL, NLL, job @ Warrior, camps, sponsored by Warrior, etc. You can see how he could be making $50k a year easily doing that kind of stuff, and I know Warrior used to hook the Powell‘s up with cars and tons of freebies so I think Dino is probably living the sweet life right now.  We’re jealous!  I’ve talked about dyeing heads in the past and Dino NEVER disappoints in that department, so even more props to the LI-bred laxer of the future.

412 hits us up with a long post with lots of Chappy pictures. Needless to say, he’s opinionated and awesome.  Carry on, kind sir!

Max Seibald is repping a new training tool: The MaxXcell FP360. We don’t know much at this point, but it looks interesting. Will this help your game?

Finally, if you want an inspirational story on overcoming adversity and don’t want to shell out $3647.62 to see that new movie about a giant man child who turns out to be good at football (duh!), then check out this article on Albany’s Mike Banks.

It’s Thanksgiving weekend, but that doesn’t mean you have to put down your wand.  Don’t get too fat, watch some football, organize a game of family lacrosse and continue to spread to good word on the greatest game anywhere.  Lacrosse season is just around the corner!
