Help Grow The Game In Canada!

Canada’s TSN Kraft Celebration Tour – Now Featuring Lacrosse!

The Voting Process for TSN’s annual Karft Celebration Tour opens next week. Last year’s tour stopped in the Canadian lacrosse hot-bed of New Westminster BC, after New West beat out Nelson, British Columbia in voting.  And money from the Kraft Tour went towards furnishing the New Westminster Youth Centre. The grand opening was held in September of 2010. The Youth Centre has been a huge success and a vital part of the community; as the centre is visited by 60-90 youths daily and has sold over 300 memberships and is continuing to expand.

Although the New West entry was not lacrosse specific, Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole (of the Kraft Tour) were treated to their own lacrosse experience as they practiced with the New Westminster Salmonbellies of the WLA. The late night duo will be headed westward again after voting is complete.

Note: Skip to #2 on the countdown!

For the Kraft Tour to satisfy their lacrosse cravings this year, all eyes will be pointed east as this years only lacrosse specific entry of Wallaceburg, Ontario faces-off against Trenton, Ontario.

With the growth of lacrosse on the rise in Wallaceburg, the minor association has adopted a run-down tennis court and are using it as an extra practice facility.  If Wallaceburg wins they will use $25,000.00 to give the tennis courts a complete facelift and make the facsility into a beautiful outdoor box lacrosse rink; a first for the community of 12,000. Over the years Wallaceburg has been home to many talented lacrosse teams and players.  And on the national stage, Wallaceburg has been home to a Founders Cup in 2001, and has produced  NLL and Sr players in Sean Pollock, Kevin Dostie, Josh McNaughton, Chris Fox, and countless other draft picks.

The "rink" as it currently stands...

The Kraft Tour comes as a culminating event for the community, as they have rallied together to save minor lacrosse after disaster stuck less than a year ago.

By voting on July 12 (voting is unlimited!) you will help a true lacrosse community provide young players with a much needed resource and allow the game of lacrosse to be a positive outlet for generations to come.  So get on it and support your lax brethren North of the Border!

Starting on July 12, 2011 please visit https://www.kraftcelebrationtour.ca/nominations/detail/509/ and vote for Wallaceburg, Ontario, and help them win $25,000.00 towards an outdoor box facility for their minor lacrosse association!!!
