MCLA Weekly Coaches Poll: DI and DII Week 1 Polls

Michigan State raced out to a 2-0 start to the season, cementing its place atop the first installment of the Under Armour MCLA Division I Weekly Coaches Poll for the period ending Feb. 17.

Locked in a tie with Chapman (1-1) in the preseason poll, the Spartans (2-0) are alone at the top of the charts, garnering 18 of the 22 first place votes available.

Cal-Berkeley (4-0), which defeated Chapman, bumped up six spots from the preseason poll to sit in the second chair with three first-place votes. South Carolina (3-0) grabbed the last first place vote, helping it into the No. 3 hole.

Chapman and Concordia-Irvine (2-0) round out the Top 5.

Under Armour Division II Poll – Week 1

After knocking off the former top team and defending champion on its own field, Minn.-Duluth has assumed the No. 1 ranking in the Under Armour MCLA Division II Weekly Coaches Poll for the period ending Feb. 17

The Bulldogs (1-0) defeated former top gun North Dakota State (2-2) – currently ranked No. 3 – in Fargo, 13-11.

St. Thomas (0-0), which begins its season this Saturday against the third-ranked Bison, remain in the second spot.

St. John’s (1-0) and Grand Valley State (0-0) are in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, but are separated by just two points.

The Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC) keeps its stranglehold on the poll, owning the top five spots. Kennesaw (5-0) is the first non-UMLC ranked in the poll at No. 6.
