MCLA Performance of the Week: Week 8

The most prestigious award in all of college lacrosse is back for another week. In MCLA action this week, two players stand out amongst them all. Haoxuan “Bill” Cui, goalie from UCSD, and Nate Graslewicz, Attack from UM, turned in stellar performances. 

After scoring six goals and adding two assists against No. 13 Arizona, Graslewicz garners MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week. The junior is known to shoot from anywhere on the field with success. His efforts this past week helped the Golden Gophers to three wins including two over ranked opponents. As the post seasons nears, his team will rely on him even more two continue their success. 

Cui, a junior, is marked down for a 15-save performance in a win over No.9 Montana. His team won a nail-biting game with a final score of 8 to 7. Cui’s 15 saves were instrumental in a top-ten win in MCLA Division II action. Cui’s coach notes that he is a passionate player that brings the team together. His coach adds that he is a leader to the younger goalies on the team. His performance earns him the MCLA Division II PEARL Goalie of the Week. 

Our winner this week has to be Nate Graslewicz. His contributions this season have helped elevate Minnesota lacrosse to new heights. Minnesota has a shot to make a strong run heading into nationals, and Graslewicz will continue to play a crucial role headed down the stretch.
