MLL Suspends Start of 2020 Season

Today, Major League Lacrosse elected to suspend the start of the 2020 season, originally scheduled for May 30. This decision was made to safeguard the health of our players, fans and staff, as well as those within our MLL communities as a result of the global pandemic.

We have been vigilant in coordinating with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), as well as federal, state and local officials to determine the protocols that will allow us to begin our season in the safest manner possible. So as to ensure the well-being of all MLL communities, we will be guided by their recommendations.
While the current situation remains fluid, the MLL family has a history of working together for the greater good. At no time should this be more evident than now.

The league recognizes the hard work and sacrifice of our players as they have prepared for this season. In an effort to help shoulder this burden, MLL has developed a fund to assist players in the event that we are unable to conduct a season in 2020.

That said, we remain hopeful and look forward to taking the field as soon as practically possible for our 20th season. In the coming weeks, we will keep fans updated on decisions regarding plans for the 2020 season. We are grateful to all MLL communities for their support, and we extend our thoughts to those who have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus.
