The Laxiest Music Monday on the entire internet is back at it. After all, it’s Monday! Yay? Gabe Means, an LSM out of WA drops his music knowledge on us all. Time to get experienced. I know I am.

Editor’s note: Please welcome Gabe Means to Music Monday! Gabe plays LSM for Washington State Univesity, an MCLA Division 1 team competing in the PNCLL conference.

My name is Gabe Means and I play LSM at  Washington State University. I come from a not so small town called Spokane, WA. We are the biggest city between Seattle and Minneapolis, yet somehow, lacrosse didn’t get to us very quickly. I started playing my freshman year of high school, and I was on the only team in town. Growing the game is all I do.

But enough about me, you’re here for some beats.

The first song I want to share with you ALWAYS gets me going in just the right way, before games, workouts, whatever…

Bass Head – Bassnectar (Remix)

Editor’s note: We couldn’t find an embeddable version, so click the link above to listen!

The second song that you should have on your iTunes if you don’t already

“Anxiety” by Black Eyed Peas

[fvplayer src=”https://youtube.com/watch?v=sKlbPM6Yq1g”]

Remember these days? I was in like sixth grade and didn’t appreciate it like I should have. When the Black Eyed Peas were amazing? Elephunk was a great album.

And now… well… look at Will…

What is that on his head?

I want the old BEP back.

Shout out to Tumbas @ 412 Lax for speaking so highly of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, I wouldn’t have given Kanye a chance after 808’s and Heartbreak. I hated that album. But, well, I see him now, and I love this track especially.

“See Me Now” by Kanye West

[fvplayer src=”https://youtube.com/watch?v=Tp-BCIowj64″]

Kanye’s back to the “All Falls Down” and “Touch The Sky” level, and I love it. Love it love it love it.

Now to give you something I doubt you have ever heard – unless you’re from my state, in which case you better know this man well.

“Wings” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

[fvplayer src=”https://youtube.com/watch?v=hxWd4jJ8iSQ”]

He makes me feel like a sinner when I have my Retro 1 Lows on.

I get to see him this Tuesday, but after practice of course… gotta have your priorities.

Next, one of the best hip hop groups of all time, and their time together was too short-lived. Download this entire album. You won’t regret it.

“Ready or Not” by The Fugees

Another local guy on his come up, give him a chance, I am glad I did.

“BruceWayne” by BRoDIE

Some of you are reading this and thinking, this is a lot of rap… yeah. It is.

So I’ve got something just for you kids who say rap isn’t your thing. If you still wanna get going before a game, I would recommend this. It’ll get you all kinds of amped.

“WARP” by The Bloody Beetroots ft. Steve Aoki

[fvplayer src=”https://youtube.com/watch?v=2DO6Y9_5e7A” splash=”https://i.ytimg.com/vi/2DO6Y9_5e7A/hqdefault.jpg” caption=”The Bloody Beetroots ft. Steve Aoki – WARP”]

And last, but not least. My pregame songs. Back to back. In this order.

“H.A.M.” by Kanye West & Jay-Z

[fvplayer src=”https://youtube.com/watch?v=x1uu16qTMKo”]

“Despicable Freestyle” by Eminem

[fvplayer src=”https://youtube.com/watch?v=brYY3Dri7xw”]

For you metal heads out there who are mad at me because there is really no rock in this still very eclectic mix of songs: shut up.

That is it for me.

Thanks to Lax All Stars for letting me do this.
