Alphabetical 2014 NCAA D1 Preview: Wagner

Matt Poskay took over the Seahawks program in 2012, but Wagner has not seen a lot of improvement in the wins department as the program is 2-25 in those two seasons. To be fair, Wagner had only won two games total in the six years before that, so maybe it was actually a huge improvement. The Wagner Seahawks are located on Staten Island, NY. NYC, baby!

If Wagner wants to have a break out year (two wins or more would qualify), they only need to tighten up a couple of things from last year, as they lost 3 of their games by a single goal. Can Wagner pull off two or three wins this year? If so, it’s a huge step for the program, and Poskay as Head Coach. Wagner’s opener against Lafayette was postponed, so they face action against Rutgers today.

For a full breakdown of the team, check out a preview on Wagner’s site provided by Matt Poskay himself. It’s quite good!

Poskay only has three seniors on the team, and plenty of freshman and sophomores. They are young, with some veteran leadership, and looking to improve. I think they just might!
