Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament – First Glance

This past weekend a good number of LAS crew members made it out to Incline Village, NV for the 2011 Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament.  Many of us were playing for the Woozles, so our focus will obviously be from that perspective, but we also had friends and contributors balling with Bigfoot, Tahoe Dawgs, Dos Equis, the Scallywags, and a couple other squads as well. I’m sure we’ll hear more from them as they all recover from the weekend!

We’ll get to more detail later, but first things first. The San Diego Tropics won it all – I think.  They were up 10-5 with only a couple minutes left when we had to leave to catch out flight out.  If that score held up, they beat West Sunset in the Finals on Sunday.  Pierce Bassett, current Johns Hopkins goalie, was lights out for the Tropics and the definite difference maker.  An older couple sitting next to me, who had never seen a lacrosse game before, remarked that his performance simply couldn’t have just been good. It had to have been great.  Yes, this was one of the most impressive games in goal I’ve seen in a while.

Woozles vs. Clif Bar?  Okay, USA.
