It took the New York Islanders’ Matt Moulson a while to really make it in the NHL, as he was a bit of a late bloomer (according to Moulson), but right now he’s tearing up the league and making a real name for himself in the pro hockey ranks. He looked good for the Islanders today.
In a piece that ran on MSG, Moulson talks about how he made it to the NHL, and he mentions lacrosse WAY more than I thought he would. I would have guessed zero times. Gotta love those two sport athletes, eh?
If his hockey career hadn’t worked out, maybe he would have made a go at pro box lacrosse. He was drafted in the fourth round a couple years back by the Rochester Knighthawks, which is a higher round than when he was drafted into the NHL by the Pittsburgh Penguins!
And there was pond hockey. Always extra points for that.
