Miles Thompson was named Coke Player of the Game for the Rochester Rattlers this past weekend, and he did so on the back of a 5 goal, 1 assist effort. One Miles Thompson Goal was particularly amazing. When asked about why that night was special, Miles said his new traditional stick was starting to get dialed in. Seriously. Check it out:
Miles also scored a ridiculous goal of the around the world variety, and that is worth watching a couple times.

Now here is what’s scary. If Miles is just now starting to feel it, and the playoffs are just starting, are the Rochester Rattlers now the top dog and heavy favorites to win the MLL title? Jordan Wolf has been ridiculous, and the rest of the team is definitely clicking. Now if Miles really hits his stride, the rest of the league could be in serious trouble!
This 6 point game is the most in Miles’ short MLL career. His previous game high was 2 points. It’s interesting to note that Miles has had one assist in 5 of his MLL games so far. To get the 5 markers, Thompson took 7 shots, 5 of which were on cage. That’s insane. Keep an eye on Miles to see how he fares in the playoffs, which start up soon.
It’s great to see another player in Major League Lacrosse sticking to traditional, and I hope Miles keeps using the leather and lace! Maybe he will inspire some of his teammates to jump on the traditional bandwagon this offseason? Even if they don’t covert to the light, good luck to Miles and the Ratz as they make their playoff push.
