The snow has melted and just a few flakes remain in the foothills. We decided to take advantage of the beautiful Boise weather and film this week’s stick trick overlooking our home base.
The Kickflip is a different take on that old school stick flip we’ve all been doing for years. Start by send you stick from hand to hand by flicking the pocket outward and throwing the butt end over the head.
Once you’re comfortable flipping your stick without any struggles, it’s time to just let go.
Continue the same process that your used to, but instead of grabbing the shaft let the stick drop in free fall. The spin should keep the ball in your pocket while it heads to your foot.
Come underneath the stick with a firm foot, I recommend bending it in a “L” shape, and use the top of your foot to kick upward putting some backspin on the stick.
The stick should spin upward, parallel to the ground for you to snatch up, completing the Kickflip!
