Stick Trick Saturday: Pinch, Pop & Stall It

Editor’s note: Welcome back to Stick Trick Saturday thanks to the unyielding support of Wolf Athletics, one of the most innovative lacrosse companies to join our stable of LAS Partners. LAS Insiders save BIG on the Ghost shaft from Wolf. We hope you enjoy!

We’ve spread love to a lot of places on the lacrosse field but there’s one spot we’ve skipped until now: The face-off X!

Face-off athletes are constantly working to learn new tricks, pick up hand speed and all-around tune their bodies to perform at the highest levels.

Playing around in the backyard while trying some new moves out for the X, I came up with these variants of the classic face-off move, the Pinch and Pop. The idea here is to clamp the ball, pinch it with the back of your head, pop it off of the ground then come underneath of it to finish in a stall.

Work in both sides of your head before finishing up this week’s trick by adding in some flair of your own. I added a simple shaft rotation, but the more impressive your version to the Pinch and Pop is, the more likely I am to throw some bonus points your way!

STICK TRICK COMPETITION

Thanks for coming back to WEEK 3 of our 2015 Stick Trick Saturday Competition! Like always, everyone who sends in their stick trick videos for the first time will receive a LAS Prize Pack. But now, once you’ve submitted your first video, you will begin to collect points!

  • This week the user MUST submit 1 Video of a completed Pinch & Pop turned into any Stick Trick!
  • 1 Video = 1 Point (Only 1 video per week may be submitted)
  • Every 5 points you will win a LAS Prize Pack, which will get bigger and better every time!

For your entry to count, you must do a Pinch and Pop immediately followed by any cool stick trick, completing a combo. If you stop after the Pinch and Pop and then start a new trick, it will not count. The new trick must appear to be part of the Pinch and Pop sequence.

At the end of 6 months, the trickster with the most points will win a pair of tickets to the 2015 MLL Championship Game in Kennesaw, GA, on top of a ton of other great prizes!

Thanks to Wolf Athletics, we will add more prizes, chances to win and new challenges along the way to make sure everyone has a chance to get hooked up with some killer swag!

Leader Board

Week 2 of the competition added 12 new faces to the running of 60 Stick Trick Contestants! Due to the 46 entries of the Chicken Wing we welcomed in this week, I want to give a LaxAllStars.com shout out to those of you that followed the rules and correctly submitted your version of my trick!

This week I’m only posting those tied for first place, I will begin posting the full standings after next week!

Not on the Leader Board? Don’t sweat it, there’s still over 5 months of competitions to collect entries and win the Grand Prize!
