Extra Effort to Encourage
A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. “What food might this contain?” the mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.
Reason Enough To Give
To what or to whom are you contributing today, outside of what is required by your life circumstance?
7 Big Lessons
Here are 7 big #lessons I’ve learned over the last 9 years of #lacrosse and #life…
Life Is Interesting
It’s important to be careful about the words we use to describe ourselves, and the phrases and descriptions we attach to ourselves. I’m guilty of it myself. Every time I fall asleep a little too early, or don’t feel like being out past10:30 or 11, it’s because “I’m old.”
Decision Making Criteria
There’s a time and a place for everything. There’s a time and a place to speak up. There’s a time and a place to remain quiet. There’s a time and a place to exert our influence. There’s a time and a place to mind our business. There’s a time and a place to defer to others. And there’s a time and a place to acknowledge or appreciate what we’ve done.
Caught Up In The Moment
Far too often, we spend time milling over people, situations, and circumstances that are so fleeting in our lives that a month, a year, or 5 years from now we won’t even allocate a breathe for when we look back on it.
Catching Enthusiasm
Enthusiasm is contagious no matter what area of life we are considering. And nobody can teach us to be enthusiastic.
In Memory of Maya
There are a number of poems, quotes, and videos that capture the life and essence of the late Maya Angelou.
Live By Faith Actions
Smile when there seems to be no reason to smile.
Give when you can least afford to give.
Give thanks even when everything around you seems to be falling apart.
Undock Your Boat
Sometimes the one thing holding us back is ourselves. We can’t swim very far if we never let go of the wall. Nor can we left go of the wall and expect to make any progress if we’re still wearing floaties, and trying to be safe.
Flex Under Pressure
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! An Excerpt from Jay Bilas’ book, Toughness In metallurgy – the science of metallic elements – toughness is a measure of how much energy a material can absorb before rupturing. Scientists have devised ways to measure a metal’s toughness through lab impact tests, such as swinging a hammer from a […]
Thoughts and Actions
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Happy Monday! Happy belief systems are fluid and evolutionary… But it’s not about your beliefs. It’s about how you life. Do you have enough conviction to live your beliefs? I don’t hold all of the exact same beliefs, today, in the exact same manner that I held them 10 or […]
