Throwback Thursday: 1986 UNC-UVA

UNC edged Johns Hopkins 10-9 in OT in one semifinal, and Virginia took down Syracuse 12-10 in the other semifinal. This was the first year where semifinal games were played at neutral sites. Coincidence? Probably, but a neat historical note either way. This was also the first time two schools from the same conference faced off for a D1 title.

I don’t know about you, but I am beyond excited for the FIL World Championships this Summer in Denver. 38 teams from around the world will descend on Colorado for two weeks of lacrosse action, and by the end of the third week in July we’ll have a new World Champ! Will it be the US? Canada? Will the Iroquois surpass everyone? Whatever happens, it’s going to be superb.

Alphabetical 2014 NCAA D1 Preview: UMass

The NCAA D1 season is now underway! During the first couple of weeks of lacrosse we’ll be finishing up the Alphabetical 2014 NCAA D1 Previews! Like last year, we are going through all of the D1 men’s teams for 2014 (there are 67 this year!) and we are now moving on to the Massachusetts Minutemen, located in Amherst, MA.
