Jessica Berman, Deputy Commissioner and Executive Vice President of Business Affairs for the NLL joins us, along with Mark Matthews on Lacrosse Classified.
We finally had a conclusion to what was a crazy season in the East division. The fantastic thing about it was that of the five games this weekend, four meant something in the playoff picture. But to think about it for a second, Vancouver almost beat Georgia. We would have had near chaos in the […]
It’s hard to believe we’re at the halfway point of the NLL season. Let’s have a little fun by assigning some mid-season awards to the guys around the league getting it done.
Each week of these early NLL games gives us more insight as to what’s really going on in this hyper competitive league. You can make an argument for any team in the preseason (I certainly did!) but as the results pour in the facts start to settle away from the conjecture, and all we can do is enjoy it.
Lacrosse all-stars and proud Canadians, Jeremy Noble and Mark Matthews joined the Encore Brand crew for a pretty comical episode of Lacrosse Skool.
Week 5 of the NLL gave us a much better picture of what we are dealing with in the first half of the season as we look forward to another 2 game weekend.
We got a nice little package at LAS HQ a few weeks back with 4 preformed Gonzo Mesh pieces (2 white, 2 glow-in-the-dark). “Gonzo Mesh is a special coated mesh covered in a secret recipe of ingredients that makes it superior to traditional soft or hard mesh pieces in every aspect. Traditional mesh pieces bag out and become inconsistent and unusable in the elements. Wax mesh pieces tent to lost their wax coating in a rapid fashion.”
In today’s MLL, the culture of consistency has become more vital to an organization’s success than ever before. It’s no longer about assembling the best group of all-star caliber players and throwing them out on the field, it’s about finding personnel that fit a system and are both willing, and able, to stay local, and together, as much as possible.
Just around the half-way point of the season both the MSL and WLA are a getting serious. The MSL top three teams are all neck and neck. The WLA is keeping everyone on their toes as the teams that started off hot have cooled, and those teams that started slow are starting to find their groove.
Tommy Palasek is currently leading the New York Lizards, of Major League Lacrosse, in scoring with 13 goals, and 4 assists, for 17 points. The most amazing thing about all of this is that through the first seven games of the season, Palasek hasn’t even been using his own stick!
Mark Matthews notches a hat trick in his first game for the Edmonton Rush. Edmonton lost 10-9 to Toronto, but Matthews gives the Rush an immediate boost this year.
The Denver Outlaws were down BIG to Long Island but came back thanks to great defense and some amazing goals! Peet Poillon, Mark Matthews and Chris Bocklet just getting it done!
