Photo of the Week: Memorial Day

This week’s photo comes to us from our man Tommy Gilligan. Tommy took some time out from the game to snap this epic picture that we could never do justice in describing. See for yourself!

Final Four Preview: D1 Lacrosse on Saturday

Lincoln Financial Field will host a lot of lacrosse this weekend, and two of the five games go down on Saturday, in the men’s lacrosse NCAA D1 semifinals. We’ve got Syracuse – Denver, and Duke – Cornell. Both should be excellent games. So let’s break down what we can expect from each match up.

Photo Of The Weekend: What Is Gravity?

NCAA D1 Lacrosse: A New Champion in 2013?

When one looks at the eight remaining NCAA D1 men’s lacrosse teams, it is easy to notice that half the teams have won national championships before, and half have not. ND/Cuse Game Photos by Tommy Gilligan

Saturday saw four D1 lacrosse teams go up early, and then fall, before the game was through. Penn State and Detroit both went up 5-1, on Yale and Notre Dame respectively, before giving way to huge comeback runs, and getting knocked out. Lehigh went up 2-0 on UNC, and looked great early on, before the Heels exploded in the 2nd quarter. Even Albany took a 1-0 lead, and then a 3-1 lead (and a 4-3 lead), before Denver’s offense really started clicking.

Is This D1 Lacrosse Tournament Field Serious?

ND/Cuse Game Photos by Tommy Gilligan

Each week I’ve been asking if the D1 Lacrosse Polls Are Serious, and each week it seems like the answer is yes. Really, it’s immaterial, as all that matters is making the big dance, and then going on a run to glory.
