The FIL 2014 World Lacrosse Championships are only a Spring season away, and we’re all extremely excited. National teams around the world are preparing to make the trip to Colorado for two weeks (or more in some cases) in July, and that means a lot of training camps, scrimmages, and quite a bit of fundraising!

There is a brand new player in the Junior College lacrosse scene, and it’s all the way out West in the great state of California! Let’s welcome the California Junior College Lacrosse Association (CJCLA) to the game officially!

NJCAA Players Of The Year

It should come as no surprise that Randy Staats (attack) and Warren Hill (goalie) took home the NJCAA Player of the Year hardware, or that both players came from Onondaga Community College, which is fresh off winning their fifth straight JuCo title.

Video: OCC Beats Nassau For 5th Straight JuCo Title

Onondaga Community College and Nassau Community College absolutely went at it yesterday out on Long Island for the NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse national championship. OCC ended up with the 15-11 win, and their fifth straight title, and we were roundly impressed with the talent on both teams.

OCC Wins NJCAA Title 15-11, Finishes 18-0

Onondaga Community College has claimed their 5th straight national title in the NJCAA ranks with a 15-11 win over Nassau Community College. The game was played on Long Island, at Mitchell Field, near Nassau’s campus and Hofstra.

The NJCAA Championships will be held on May 11th and 12th at Nassau CC in Garden City. The field is figured out and we’re entering the most important 12 days of JuCo lacrosse for the year. It’s time to decide who the best NJCAA team is in 2013!

Six teams get invited to the NJCAA National Playoffs this year, and with 5 automatic qualifiers handed out to the five different regions of JuCo lacrosse, the one at-large is a hotly desired and contested spot.
